CAIRO: The Italian government decided to lift the travel ban to Egypt’s touristic points on Saturday, including Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Sedi Barani, Sharm el-Sheikh, Luxor and Aswan.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Tourism Rasha al-Azaizi said in a press release that Egypt’s tourist sector is on the right track to restoring its rates during the upcoming period, pointing to the cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard.
She pointed to the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Tourism to convince other governments to lift their travel bans to Egypt, describing these bans as one of the main challenges that has faced the vital tourism sector in the recent period.
She added that the Italian decision reflects the notable change witnessed in the international view of the significant security improvement that the government managed to achieve in the recent period.
