The Egypt Cup final will be played in front of empty stands due to security concerns, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has announced.
"The EFA received a letter from the interior ministry confirming Saturday's Egypt Cup final between Zamalek and Wadi Degla will be played without fans at Gouna stadium," read a statement on the EFA's official website on Thursday.
Zamalek's hardcore fans, Ultras White Knights, announced on Wednesday their intention to defy the crowd ban and attend the match.
"Fans attendance at the Egypt Cup final is neither debatable nor negotiable. The Ultras White Knights will be on the battle field," said a statement published on the group's Facebook page, which had 400,000 members.
"Whether you agree or not, the white crowd will be in Gouna," they added.
The competition has been played behind closed doors in the Red Sea resort of Gouna, 430km from Cairo, due to security concerns after the army ousted elected president Mohamed Morsi amid mass protests on 3 July.
