| Gunmen killed a police officer in North Sinai |
ARISH, Egypt: A police officer was shot dead Tuesday in Arish, in North Sinai, after militants attacked a police station, said security and medical sources.
The militants, who drove by in a car, opened fire on the Arish Third Police station.
The officer, Tareq Zaki, was shot in his chest and died by the time he reached Arish military hospital.
A soldier, Ali Ahmed Mustafa, was also injured and is now being treated in Arish hospital.
